Geography is better-understood with a geological background, for example the ability to read maps is useful.

The Geology Group has organised a number of FIELD TRIPS in the past.

Free British Geological Survey apps exist, to give access to geological maps; e.g. "iGeology"and the "Geology of Britain Viewer."

Geological maps help us understand why scenery isn’t there by accident, but represents a snap-shot of continuing processes.

The Group Leader, Roddy O, is a retired geologist with a Ph.D. in the subject.
